The pastures are vacant, the grass isn’t tall, so now is the time to PLAY! I recently read a book that suggested parents afford children “a hill to roll down.” It was timely that our older pioneer boy rolled down (unprompted by my reading) and invited me to play. I certainly don’t have the stomach for it anymore (Pioneer Papa wondered why I even tried), and I wonder how and why children like to be disoriented so much. But, laying in the grass listening to their bouncing laughs is certainly priceless.
