Last night (a no-TV night – see post below) we planted our garden. The boys have been watching and tending their tomatoes since March, and they were very excited to finally get them in the garden. We planted 27 plants, along with carrots, beans, watermelon, basil, pumpkins, and sunflowers. They insisted on watering the tomatoes themselves even though the can is pretty heavy. They would share carrying the can, then take turns tipping the water around the plant.

I was very impressed to see so much patience from a 3 and 5-year-old. They both planted until we were done with the entire garden, spaced the seeds so nicely, and watered every plant but a saved row for mom. Now, they are just waiting for the new crops to pop up.
