The hot days have been ripening our local berry source, our fenceline. We have spent the past two nights walking up and down the pastures gathering fresh, local, organic, wild berries, quite possibly the healthiest food we’ll eat all year. We graze while we pick, especially the pioneer boys, and still manage to collect quite a bit. Plans are to make and can jam in two weeks. We’re hoping for enough to last us a year. We’ll see what we can refrain from eating on top of vanilla ice cream, with whipped cream, and on top of pancakes and waffles…
