I’ve been gathering up school supplies for our Grade 2 Waldorf curriculum. I purchased colored pencils and couldn’t help but gather up watercolor pencils too. This morning the boys saw the stacked watercolor paper pads and inquired about them. So, we dove in. I brought out the watercolor pencils, they drew, colored, experimented, and wet their creations. We were so delighted with the results.
I purchased the 12 color Prismacolor set and here is why. Less is more. I went to a Waldorf watercolor painting and block crayon class and the teacher only had red, yellow, and blue. She mixed and used only these three colors to create every color. I must say, it was beautiful. So, I purchased the least amount of colors to create maximum color mixing opportunity.
