DSC_5918It’s no secret Pioneer Papa likes auctions and Amish made pie. This weekend he found a local auction titled, “Amish Horse Drawn Equipment Auction” and “Amish Consignment Auction.”….. Yes, of course we went.

Actually, Papa (okay me as well) has been itching for an auction, and while he has not found anything that compared to our favorites back in Illinois, he’s still on the hunt. So we packed up the truck, hitched up the trailer, and drove to Amish country for a fun day of bidding, pie, and flea marketing.

We weren’t the only ones! This auction was packed. The lot was filled with empty trailers. The Amish baked goods for sale had a long line and the crowds were dizzying. Most definitely a far cry from our smaller groups at barn sale auctions up North. We weren’t dissuaded though. We stayed for a few hours, shopped the flea market, Papa did some bidding, and yes, we had pie.
